We are seeking a full-time Post-Doctoral Research Associate to join the Brassart research group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The post is funded by EPSRC, for a duration of 24 months. The project aims to develop new constitutive models to describe the mechanical behaviour of Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs), with the research developing the theory underpinning the model, its numerical implementation in a finite element code, and its validation against experimental data in collaboration with experimental collaborators.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated researcher, with an interest in working at the interface of industrial ecology, chemistry and chemical engineering, to work with Dr Rick Lupton and SCHEMA Hub partners to understand how the innovative chemical manufacturing technologies being developed within the SCHEMA Hub could scale up to affect UK emissions and environmental impacts, and under what conditions they will lead to the most significant reductions in impacts.
