This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated researcher, with an interest in working at the interface of industrial ecology, chemistry and chemical engineering, to work with Dr Rick Lupton and SCHEMA Hub partners to understand how the innovative chemical manufacturing technologies being developed within the SCHEMA Hub could scale up to affect UK emissions and environmental impacts, and under what conditions they will lead to the most significant reductions in impacts.
This is a 24 month, fixed-term position.
Closing date for applications: 28th February 2025
We are looking for a skilled and motivated researcher to join the team led by Dr Stephen Allen at the Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change at the University of Bath, working with SCHEMA Hub partners to:
- Develop a screening approach to prioritise chemicals, materials and processes that have potential for low environmental footprints.
- Produce full prospective LCAs for selected case studies.
- Work closely with a parallel SCHEMA project on prospective material flow analysis that will develop a national-scale perspective on chemical and material production systems.
This is a 24 month, fixed-term position.
Closing date for applications: 28th February 2025
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated postdoctoral researcher with an interest in working at the interface of molecular catalysis, polymer science and flow chemistry with data science to develop new sustainable materials via advanced process control. This role is part of the SCHEMA Hub using Bath’s Dynamic Reaction Monitoring (DReaM) Facility.
This is a 24 month, fixed-term position.
Closing date for applications: 4th March 2025
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join the Catalysis and Process Integration group led by Prof. Laura Torrente-Murciano (www.capi.ceb.cam.ac.uk).
The overall aim of the project is to accelerate the development of novel manufacturing routes for sustainable polymers by revealing kinetic and mechanistic understanding of polymerisation chemistries using flow systems to guide the design of efficient, tailored manufacturing routes.
This post is fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
