Zoe Miao

Zoe is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bath, working within the SCHEMA project.

Zoe obtained her PhD in Engineering from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, where she developed a consistent life cycle assessment (LCA) framework for nutrient circularity and decision-making. Her research combines industrial ecology and sustainable development principles to support the design of environmentally responsible technologies, with applications in phosphorus recycling, plastic waste management, and energy system transitions. She also serves as co-chair of the Circular Economy & LCA Working Group at the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment (ACLCA). Overall, her work focuses on advancing methodological foundations for sustainability assessment to enable circular and future-oriented innovation.
