Edmund is based at the University of Bath and his research focuses on Synthesis of Lewis Acidic Catalysts for Sustainable Chemical Transformations.
Edmund graduated from the University of Bath in 2024 with a first-class Master’s in Chemistry. As part of his degree, he completed a research project under the supervision of Dr Ruth Webster on the impact of ligand flexibility in iron salen catalysts. For his Master’s research project, supervised by Professor Antoine Buchard, he focused on the synthesis, and characterisation, of novel monomer units derived from sugars. Aside from studying, he completed a year-long industrial placement at TE Connectivity using polymeric materials to prevent wildlife-induced electrical outages.
