Guofan Xu

Guofan completed his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol, UK, in 2025 under the supervision of Prof. Steve Eichhorn. His doctoral research centred on developing cellulose-based self-healing composites, employing Pickering emulsion-templated microcapsule fabrication and cellulose nanocrystal-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). In August 2025, Guofan joined Davide Mattia's group as a research associate at the University of Bath and began working on the fabrication of biodegradable microcapsules based on cellulose nanofibrils as part of the SCHEMA Hub.
