Jiayu Wang

Jiayu is based at the University of Bath and is working on the prospective material flow analysis of chemicals and polymers.

She is working with Dr Rick Lupton on modelling the current and future petrochemical system across the UK, including material flows of chemicals and polymers, their energy and carbon emissions implications, with particular attention to the novel chemistry and polymers being developed within the SCHEMA. She earned her PhD in 2025 through the joint training programme of the University of Nottingham and the Institute of Urban Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences, specialising in material cycles, environmental impacts, and the sustainable management of chemicals and plastics.
