Yoshihiro Goto

Yoshihiro is based at Cardiff University and is working on the development of catalysts for the hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol.

Yoshihiro completed his Master’s degree at Kyoto University (Japan) in 2015. He joined Toyota Central R&D Labs., Inc. in 2015 and has been engaged in the development of exhaust gas purifying catalysts, ammonia synthesis catalysts, and CO2 conversion catalysts. Yoshihiro obtained his PhD from Kyoto University under the supervision of Prof. Hiroshi Kageyama in 2021. His doctoral research focused on developing novel inorganic compounds with anion-derived functions. In September 2024, he joined Graham Hutchings’ group as a visiting researcher at Cardiff Catalysis Institute and began working as part of the SCHEMA Hub.
